At SCUCC we are committed to integrating the arts and technology seamlessly in worship. To us the concept of Art-In-Worship does not mean "Religitainment"; it means bringing non-verbal artistic forms into worship to provide a full experience of the presence of God. This might include poetry, storytelling, humor, dance, puppetry, drama, sculpture, painting and music of all types. We have had a potter working during a worship service and a painter painting during another service. The congregation often participates in creating some expression of the experience we are exploring, such as when we all made a HOPE banner together.
The use of the arts and technology is not an end in and of itself, but is expressly for the purpose of experiencing God in worship. Vibrant worship is one of our core values, and there are many in our congregation who would say that God shows up each week for them in worship!
