Mingus Camp

Every year over Labor Day Weekend, an adventuresome intergenerational group of SCUCC’ers trek up the Mingus Mountain northeast of Prescott Arizona to enjoy a cool weekend in the outdoors at Mingus Springs Camp. This is a 30+ year tradition, and many people who now bring their children remember participating as children themselves.

Our Mingus Camp is a low-structure weekend with opportunities for fishing, hiking, reading, sleeping, sports, board games, or just plain hanging out. We always have a nice campfire with S’mores and fun singing, a memorable Sunday morning worship time in the outdoors, and on Sunday night there the highlight of the weekend, our infamous “Talentless Talent Show” that provides many good laughs and cherished memories.

It’s a great time for family and friends, singles, couples and guests, young and old.
