Prayer Group
SCUCC has always been a praying church. From the beginning of our founding, we have always sponsored some form of Prayer Group that meets regularly. Our current prayer group is closed to new members except by special arrangement, in order to hold sacred the confidentiality concerns of those individuals who share private prayer requests only with this intimate group. They meet from 9:15 – 9:55 each Sunday morning in a hybrid meeting. Together, they hold in confidential prayer all those who have brought their requests forward. They pray for those in our church and community who are in need of healing and support, and for those celebrating joys and gratitude. They receive new prayer requests and review the entire Prayer List from the previous week during their prayer time. They have many testimonies to the power of prayer, and people really are grateful knowing that they are being held in prayer.
For those who have given permission to have their prayer requests available to a wider circulation, an updated, more public Prayer List is published each week by email to a special distribution. If you wish to have a prayer, joy or concern shared among the small confidential group or more openly to the SCUCC congregation, please call the church office or fill out a Connection Card at church or using the Online Connection Card.
